How we handle
your data

Last updated: June 1, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data wp-lib.com collects when you use our website or contact us, how we use it, and what rights you have under GDPR and applicable law.

01

Introduction

wp-lib.com ("we", "us", "our") is operated as part of a bilingual WordPress service project. This website is the English-language interface of the same service available in Russian at wp-fix.ru.

We are committed to protecting your personal data and being transparent about how we collect and use it. This policy applies to all visitors and users who interact with wp-lib.com, including those who submit a contact or service request form.

If you have questions about this policy, please contact us at [email protected].

02

Data We Collect

We collect only data that is necessary to respond to your inquiry or improve the service.

Data you provide voluntarily via the contact form:

  • Your name (optional)
  • Contact detail — email address, WhatsApp, or other messenger handle
  • Website URL you need help with
  • Free-text description of your problem or request

Data collected automatically:

  • IP address and approximate geographic location (server logs, retained for up to 30 days)
  • Browser type, operating system, referring URL
  • Pages visited, time on site, and interaction events (via analytics — see section 6)
  • Cookie identifiers (see section 6)

We do not collect sensitive categories of personal data (racial origin, health data, financial data, etc.).

03

How We Use Your Data

We use the information collected for the following purposes:

  • Responding to requests — to assess, quote, and carry out the WordPress work you requested
  • Service communication — to keep you informed about progress, results, and follow-up questions
  • Analytics and improvement — to understand how visitors use the site and improve its content and usability
  • Security and abuse prevention — to detect and block malicious or fraudulent activity

The legal basis for processing contact-form data is legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, where applicable, performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Analytics data is processed on the basis of consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) where required.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

04

Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected:

  • Contact-form submissions — kept for up to 12 months after the last interaction, then deleted or anonymised
  • Server logs — retained for up to 30 days for security monitoring, then purged automatically
  • Analytics data — subject to the retention settings of the analytics tool in use (see section 6)

When your data is no longer needed, it is securely deleted or anonymised so it can no longer be attributed to you.

05

Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have the following rights under the GDPR:

  • Right of access — you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to erasure — you can request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Right to data portability — you can request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Right to object — you can object to processing based on legitimate interest
  • Right to restrict processing — you can ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances
  • Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

06

Cookies & Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site and understand how it is used.

Strictly necessary cookies — required for the site to function (e.g. WordPress session and security cookies). No consent is required for these.

Analytics cookies — we may use a privacy-friendly analytics tool (such as a self-hosted or cookieless analytics solution) to collect aggregated usage statistics. Where the tool sets cookies, we request your consent via a cookie notice on first visit.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not share cookie data with ad networks. You can manage or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings.

07

For significant changes, we will place a prominent notice on the website. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
